Baris Oney is the Founder and Managing Partner of Globalturk Capital. He is currently active in the boards of numerous portfolio companies as an early stage investor and/or a co-investor with international private equity funds as well as strategic investors. Prior to founding Globalturk Capital, he has worked in the investment banking/corporate finance advisory/investment management practice for 18 years at various capacities such as an advisory partner, operating partner and/or an executive manager. Since early 1994, as the lead and co-lead manager, he has managed more than 100 cross-border M&A, private equity, IPO, privatization, due diligence and valuation projects on the sell and buy side equity and debt finance for clients, both large conglomerates and small to mid-market companies. Assignments covered setting up and/or managing investment banking and corporate finance advisory practices in three of the most renowned financial institutions in Turkey: Deloitte (Partner), Yapi Kredi Yatirim (acting AGM) and TSKB (Director), and the strategic and international business development - M&A Department of the Turkcell Group (Group Head). Assignments have also included managing a private equity investee company in the digital-mobile marketing and advertising sector as the CEO with a CFO/M&A executive hat as well.
